Coronavirus Update from The Trustees

Coronavirus Update from The Trustees

Dear friend,

The health of our visitors, supporters, and staff is of utmost priority
as we navigate the evolving Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation. At this
point, The Trustees is following the recommendations offered by the U.S.
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as state and local
governments to protect our community and to limit the spread of the
virus.

Trustees properties will remain open with appropriate measures to
protect the health of our visitors. We will increase cleaning protocols
and reduce the number of visitors within our historic homes at any given
point.

In recognition that large gatherings might facilitate the spread or risk
of exposure to COVID-19, we have decided to cancel larger events for
the remainder of March. If programs or events that you are registered
for are canceled, you will be notified via email and issued a full
refund. If you’re unsure of the status of the event, please contact
staff at the host property or check our website. We will also update our
social media channels frequently as well as
this page to reflect any updates on future events and programs.

If you have had contact with someone with COVID-19 or have traveled in
the affected locations, please email the property contact found in your
ticket confirmation email for a full refund, even for programs and
events that are still scheduled to occur. If you just don’t feel
comfortable at a group activity, we will also honor a refund or you may
choose to donate your fee to support conservation.

We understand that access to nature, the outdoors and culture can be a
benefit to one’s health at this time so we want to ensure that those
experiences are as safe as possible. We are closely monitoring the
developments on this evolving situation and are taking the necessary
precautions where possible. Specifically, we will increase the frequency
of cleaning and disinfecting of areas that are highly visited,
including exhibits and restrooms. We will make hand washing areas or
hand sanitizer available at our cultural and historic sites and at
public programs. And we will share the CDC’s guidance for visitors and
staff to prevent the spread of infection.

I thank you for your understanding as we respond to the
Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation, and I welcome you to explore our trails,
beaches, and other special places to enjoy the peace and wonder of
nature as we navigate this time.
