The VA terms Eligibility, Entitlement and Enrollment get tossed around a lot these days.
Here is the short version:
Requirements the veteran must meet in order to access or use that specific VA benefit. Eligibility requirements vary from program to program.
The amount of benefit an eligible veteran has. Typically referring to VA Home Loans (i.e., the amount of entitlement a veteran has available when using the VA Home loan benefit a second time); or the number of months left for a veteran using the Post 9/11 GI Bill. there may be other entitlement limitations set, it depends on the specific program.
The registration of the veteran into the VA system (usually referring to VA Healthcare). Needed for healthcare eligible and healthcare non-eligible veterans and their spouses to receive the Covid Vaccination through the VA. YES, I know I said Virus in the video!
I know people don't like to go to the VA website, but this is where I would start to review the eligibility requirements for any VA benefit program.
Your specific situation, service, dates, time in, Active, Reserve or Guard, all have to match the eligibility requirements for the program you are trying to access.
